Pennsylvania Susquehanna River Duck Hunts-North Zone

Hunting on the Susquehanna River in North Central Pennsylvania is a great time for a new hunter to start their waterfowling career. The river can be over a mile wide at someplaces we frequently hunt and the species of ducks we harvest can be as equally diverse. Mallards and wood ducks make up the bulk of the harvest. However, we also frequently harvest black bucks, teal, gadwalls, widgeon, ringnecks and even pintails. We hunt from blind boats, shore blinds and even layout blinds depending on river conditions. The "River" stays open late until the season and you can expect the opportunity at ducks all the way through January.

You'll Need:

Pennsylvania Hunting License w/Stamps, 7 day or season license available.
Shells, Shot sizes 2, 3, and 4 shot.
Gun, we do not loan guns. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Appropriate Clothing for the Weather full camouflage or dull earthtone colors, a change of clothes is a good idea.
Waders, strongly reccomended, but not required.

Maryland Puddle Duck Hunting

Black Duck Outfitters hunts the September Teal Only Season as well as puddle ducks through additional the three splits that Maryland offers on private leases. “Woodies” are always on the hunt list as they stay in our flooded timber and beaver ponds feasting on acorns as they stage in great numbers prior to migrating south for the winter in October. These same protected back water areas are also stack up with migrating mallards, widgeon, pintails, and gadwalls from November through the end of January.

Early Teal:
$400 a gun. Minimum 2 hunters

Regular Duck:
$500 a gun. Minimum 2 hunters

Weather:

We can't guarantee weather or when the birds will fly, some things you just can't control. For water hunts, we reserve the right to reschedule or may offer you a field hunt option if the water is at a dangerous level due to heavy rain or winds. Your safety and the safety of our guides is our primary concern.

Deposits:

50% deposit due at time of booking. Balance due when you arrive for your hunt. Due to limited availability and the advanced planning needed to ensure a quality trip, we are unable to refund any payments. We will be happy to reschedule and answer any questions regarding this policy.

Cancellation Policy:

Black Duck Outfitters reserves the right to cancel and refund hunts up to 20 days in advance for any reason.
